Whether you're looking for a formal internship, volunteer experience, or WWOOFing opportunity, we welcome motivated individuals who want to learn and contribute to our operation.

What You'll Experience

Reindeer Care

Learn about reindeer husbandry, feeding, handling, and the unique aspects of raising these arctic animals in Alaska.

Organic Farming

Work in our gardens, learn about cold-climate vegetable production, and help with harvesting and preservation.

Homestead Skills

Gain practical knowledge in food preservation, foraging, infrastructure maintenance, and sustainable living practices.

Tourism Operations

Participate in hosting tours, interacting with guests, and learning about agritourism business operations.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Daily care and feeding of reindeer
  • Garden maintenance: planting, weeding, watering, harvesting
  • Property maintenance and improvements
  • Assisting with tours and guest experiences
  • Food preservation and processing
  • Foraging and learning about edible/medicinal plants
  • General homestead tasks as needed

What We're Looking For

Ideal candidates are:

  • Physically fit and able to perform outdoor manual labor
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing conditions
  • Genuinely interested in sustainable living and farming
  • Comfortable working with animals
  • Able to commit to a minimum time period (typically 1-3 months)
  • Friendly and comfortable interacting with tour guests
  • Respectful of our family, property, and way of life

Logistics & Accommodations

Season: Opportunities are typically available from May through September, though some positions may extend into other seasons.

Duration: Minimum commitment varies by position, typically 1-3 months.

Accommodations: We provide housing and meals in exchange for your work. Specific arrangements will be discussed upon acceptance.

Work Schedule: Generally 5-6 days per week, with flexibility for exploring Alaska on your days off.
